Here are some of the events taking place in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole this weekend:

80s Mania at the Bournemouth Pavilion Theater

  • When? 7:30 p.m. Saturday January 15

This Saturday, attend the official multi-tribute concert of the 1980s, longtime European Prime Minister.

There will be 28 chart-topping artists from the 80s authentically recreated to look and sound like they did back in the day.

With a full live band, awesome dancers, stunning lasers and a light-up design, it’s going to be a party to chase away the January blues.

Northern Soul at Winton and Moordown Royal British Legion

  • When? 7:30 p.m. Saturday January 15

Northern soul event

Enjoy an evening of Northern Soul classics mixed with a mix of R&B, 7Ts and Motown.

The moving evening will have hits played on vinyl thanks to the crystal-clear 4T5 RPM sound system.

Dance the night away on the large wooden dance floor with club-priced drinks and no membership required to attend.

Tickets cost £6 at the door.

Goldilocks – Adventures of a Porridge Thief! at the Black Cherry Comedy Club in Boscombe

Goldilocks – Adventures of a Porridge Thief! is an interactive pantomime for the whole family recounting what happened next in the not-so-classic tale.

Can Baby Bear retrieve the magic pot of porridge and complete his coming-of-age quest? What if the Big Bad Wolf got his hands on the Magic Pot? And can Goldilocks save the world from an oatmeal apocalypse?

Full of live music, banter with the audience, singing, dancing, parts for the audience volunteers to play on stage and lots of mush – this pantomime is destined to be real belly laughs.

LUSH workshop, gym class and lunch at R1SE in Bournemouth

Bournemouth Echo: Cafe and Gym R1SECafe and gym R1SE

R1SE and LUSH come together to organize a mix of activities to help attendees gain a sense of health, well-being, creativity and community.

The event includes a LUSH workshop, an R1SE gym class and the use of showers and facilities with food created by chef @amiieats at the R1SE cafe.

Customers will also take home a bag of goodies including coffee vouchers, loyalty cards, LUSH products and discounts at many local beauty and hair businesses.

Viennese New Year’s Concert by the Bournemouth Brass Band at the Regent Center in Christchurch

Bournemouth Concert Brass returns to the Regent Center to present its Viennese New Year’s Concert for the 25th year.

Come join them in celebrating the music of Vienna, featuring the music of composers associated with this wonderful city, including of course the Strauss family.

The concert ends in typical fashion with the wonderful Blue Danube waltz and the Radetsky March.
