Hyderabad: The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Indoor Stadium in Mumbai will host the ongoing Pro Kabaddi League Season 9 qualifiers, organizers Mashal Sports announced on Thursday.
India’s second most watched league, PKL follows playoff and final playoff format. Out of 12 teams, the top six teams qualify for the playoffs, with the top two in the table going straight to the semi-finals while the other four compete in the playoffs to meet the top two.
With two league legs completed, PKL will kick off the third and final leg at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium, Hyderabad.
After Hyderabad, the qualifiers are scheduled for December 13, 2022 to December 17, 2022.
The two qualifiers are scheduled for December 13, followed by the semi-finals on December 15 and the final on December 17.
On the occasion of the announcement, Bengaluru Bulls coach Randhir Singh Sehrawat said: “This season has been so competitive that no one remembers the 8th season. The youngsters coming from the NYP program have done well and every team fights hard.”
Pro Kabaddi has returned to Hyderabad after a three-year COVID-forced hiatus. Speaking about the fans returning to the stadium, Puneri BC Coach Ramesh said: “We are grateful to our fans and playing in front of home fans has boosted our confidence. Our strategy was to win most home games and that has worked.”
The Pro Kabaddi League 2022 started from Bengaluru, moving next to Pune and will start the final leg in Hyderabad tomorrow.
