Rochdale has been voted the best place to live in the UK if you suffer from hay fever.
With summer underway, many people are enjoying the outdoors and warmer weather, but some have to deal with itchy eyes and runny noses.
However, according to a new study by Exubiaa design company that uses nature, Rochdale is the UK’s best town for hay fever sufferers.
The city’s Goldilocks climate – meaning it’s not too hot for pollen to thrive – the low grass cover and low tree cover made it the perfect place to people with allergies.
About 100 cities and towns across the country have been scored on a number of factors that contribute to hay fever, including tree and grass cover, aridity, breeze and heat.
Rochdale had an overall score of 105/500, which topped the charts ahead of Glasgow with a score of 150/500.
If you find yourself in an area where your symptoms are manifesting, wearing wrap-around sunglasses and installing a pollen filter in your car is a great first line of defense.
Upon arriving home, it is also essential to remove all outer clothing and wash the pollen from your hair. Pollen that sticks to fabric or hair can prolong suffering for hours after pollen exposure.
