PTI’s strategy to thwart incumbent no-trust movement, says Asad Umar – Pakistan

Federal Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Minister Asad Umar said on Saturday that the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had finalized its strategy to deal with the no-confidence motion, adding that the plan would be disclosed on the right. time, reported APP.

According to the state agency, Umar said the opposition was only playing a “defiance game” to protect its vested interests.

“They are just wasting the government’s time to draw attention to other issues,” he said.

The Minister said that the day of the motion of no confidence will be remarkable because all the groups of the coalition will support the government in place.

He said there was no truth in the reports that a major political change was planned in the Punjab province.

Umar said Prime Minister Imran Khan was the sole authority to decide on any political changes in the province, adding that the PML-Q had not made any demands regarding the replacement of the chief minister of Punjab.

In another related development, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar said earlier this week that Abdul Aleem Khan as CM of Punjab was not “acceptable to him”.

According to Aaj News, Buzdar said PML-Q leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi was an acceptable candidate if Abdul Aleem Khan was removed.

The opposition on Tuesday tabled the motion of no confidence against Prime Minister Imran Khan at the secretariat of the National Assembly (AN).

The President of the National Assembly, Asad Qaiser, was not present in his office, which is why the motion of censure was filed with the secretariat.

For the motion to succeed, the common opposition needs the support of 172 deputies.

After the motion is tabled, the NA President has three to seven days to convene a session of the NA to proceed with the vote.
