No place for Jules Kounde in Barca’s entry list, Lewandowski will play La Liga opener

La Liga heavyweights Barcelona have taken a big step by raising substantial funds to help register most of their new summer signings. The Catalan giants are required to register all their new signings if they want to feature them in a domestic league game. According to reports, Xavi’s side have managed to register four new signings, including Robert Lewandowski. However, Jules Kounde is absent so may not be allowed to play against Rayo Vallecano.

Barcelona register Lewandowski but not Kounde

Barcelona have reportedly managed to register four of their new signings after raising around £85million through the sale of 24.5% of Barca Studios to Orpheus Media. According to reports, the new registered signings include Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie.

In the meantime, they’ve also reportedly registered Ousmane Dembele and Sergi Roberto’s contract renewals. If they want to register Jules Kounde, it is believed that they will have to free up some of their wage bill. It remains to be seen whether the club are able to sign the 23-year-old French defender ahead of their next game against Real Sociedad on August 21.

Barcelona raise funds via sale of Barca Studios

Barcelona released a detailed statement on August 12 to confirm they were raising funds through the sale of Barca Studios. The statement said,

“FC Barcelona announces the sale of 24.5% of Barça Studios to the company Orpheus Media, headed by Mr. Jaume Roures, an audiovisual production company with a long history of content production, for 100 million euros.

This agreement complements the one signed on July 29 with and will help accelerate the growth of the club’s digital, NFT and Web.3 strategy.

The sale was carried out under the authorization of the General Assembly of FC Barcelona members on October 23rd.

With this investment, the strategic partners of Barça Studios show their confidence in the value of the project and in the future of digital content in the world of sport.”
