McCoy Celebrates Shaker Place Executive Director Named AHCA ‘Administrator of the Year’

ALBANY, NY – Albany County Executive Daniel McCoy recently celebrated executive director of the county-owned and operated Shaker Place Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Larry Slatky, being named Administrator of the Year by the American Health Care Association. The American Health Care Association and National Center (AHCA/NCAL) announced the annual awards on Wednesday, with the official ceremony to be held at the 73rd Annual AHCA/NCAL Convention & Expo October 9-12 in Nashville, TN.

The recognition follows McCoy announcing that Slatky had been inducted into the American College of Health Care Administrators Hall of Fame as a member of the inaugural class in April.

“The seniors and veterans who call Shaker Place home have worked hard all their lives, they have served their communities and their country, and they deserve the highest level of care. This quality care starts from the top down, which is why I want to thank Larry for his continued leadership over the years and congratulate him on once again being recognized for his hard work,” McCoy said in a statement. hurry.

Last October, McCoy announced that Shaker Place Rehabilitation and Nursing Center was ranked 43rd out of more than 600 facilities on the 2022 list of “New York State’s Best Nursing Homes” by Newsweek Magazine and Statista, Inc. .on the basis of an independent analysis. . In 2020, it was announced that Shaker Place received the Silver Achievement in Quality Award from the American Health Care Association and the National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL), after winning the Bronze Quality Award in 2018.
