Hardik Pandya grabbed the headlines again, this time in the latest ICC T20I rankings for all-rounders. Hardik’s 3-25 against Pakistan on Sunday followed by an unbeaten 33 from 17 that carried India past the finish line helped him to a career-best fifth place in the table versatile players.
In the last ICC T20I rankings, Hardik Pandya jumped eight spots in the overall T20I standings, reaching fifth position, his career-high ranking in the format. The versatile Indian star impressed with both bat and ball against Pakistan on Sunday, returning excellent numbers from 3-25 and scoring a handy 17-ball 33 to help his side beat their rivals by five wickets in Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The game belonged to India Asian Cup opener and taking advantage of his talent, they started the tournament in style.
Elsewhere, Afghanistan’s spirited start to the Asian Cup helped their superstars soar to new heights in the latest standings. Leading leg spinner Rashid Khan moved up to third place (708) among bowlers, only behind Josh Hazlewood (792) and Tabraiz Shamsi (716). Mujeeb Ur Rahman, who currently tops the Asian Cup 2022 wicket list with five scalps in two games, also moved up to ninth place.
Meanwhile, Pakistani duo Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan lead the batsman rankings with 810 and 796 points respectively. Suryakumar Yadav slipped to third place, with 792 points.
