GRAPHICS: Dune Spice Wars takes third place

The Dune Spice Wars video game has finally launched and debuted at #3 on Steam.

The strategy title hit early access on April 26, following renewed interest in the iconic sci-fi franchise on the back of Denis Villeneuve’s 2021 film. It should be noted that Dune holds a special place in the hearts of many PC gamers due to the fact that 1992’s Dune II laid the foundation for the hit Command and Conquer franchise.

The top spot this week went to Valve’s own Steam Deck, which retained the top spot, while the company’s Valve Index VR Kit fell three spots to No. 9 week after week.

Elden Ring also remains stable in second place, while last week’s No. 3 – Cyberpunk 2077 – drops five positions to eighth. The Ultra Deluxe version of 2013’s The Stanley Parable debuted in fourth place and moved over 100,000 units in its first 24 hours on Steam, according to developer Crows Crows Crows.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice’s Game of the Year Edition returns to the Top 10 in fifth place thanks to a 50% price drop. Capcom’s Monster Hunter Rise saw a similar price drop, returning to the Steam charts at number six.

Rogue Legacy 2 – the sequel to the 2013 roguelike – debuted at No. 7 after its April 28 release.

Dying Light 2 rounds out the Top Ten, likely due to the zombie game’s 20% price drop on Steam.
