Giants place NJ offensive lineman on left team/bye list, report says

The New York Giants lost an offensive lineman in training camp.

Professional Football Discussion reports that the Giants have placed matt gono on the left team/bye list Wednesday.

Gono was lining up as the backup right tackle and competing to be the swing tackle. rookies Josh Ezeudu and Marcus McKethan will climb the depth chart with Gono gone.

Gono, 26, is from Cinnaminson, NJ, in Burlington County. According to Philadelphia plaintiffhe was born in Liberia and moved to South Jersey as a child.

The Giants signed Gono to a one-year contract in March.

Gono joined the Atlanta Falcons in 2018 as an undrafted free agent after playing at Division III Wesley College. He saw action in five games in 2019 and 16 games in 2020. Gono spent the entire 2021 season on the physically unable to complete the list with a shoulder injury and was released in February.
