In case you were wondering, Sentosa is located just off the southern coast of Singapore and has slowly become a sport for esports events to be held in the APAC region. This will be one of the biggest events to come to the island, especially in recent years, with the pandemic putting a bit of a grip on everything. Garena is aiming to make this an in-person event and working to ensure all events adhere to public health protocols and travel policies. FFWS 2022 Sentosa will bring together 22 teams from 13 regions for the opportunity to be crowned Free Fire World Champions.
The Play-ins will feature 12 teams competing for a spot in the finals the following week. The top 2 teams from the Play-ins will join the top 10 ranked teams and form the 12 teams that will compete to win the FFWS 2022 Sentosa. Teams will compete over 6 rounds – across 3 maps – to be last standing, with points awarded based on round standings and number of kills. The FFWS 2021 SG Finals reached a peak of 5.4 million concurrent online viewers, which is the highest peak viewership for any esports game in history, excluding Chinese platforms , according to Esports Charts.
