Leeds engineering firm RWO has been named in a construction framework that will see the firm support the development of hundreds of millions of pounds of affordable housing projects.
The move allows civil and structural engineers from Park Square to secure a place on Yorkshire Housing’s engineering panel following a tender, paving the way for possible work on building works. worth £500 million.
Established in 1999, Yorkshire Housing is a not-for-profit organization which manages over 18,000 affordable and social housing units in 20 local authorities.
The framework is used to support a development program which includes the delivery of over 1,000 new homes for rent and sale per year in the area.
The work to be provided by RWO under the agreement – which is structured to make it accessible to small local contractors as well as large operators – includes site-wide earthworks and infrastructure design as well as civil and structural engineering services.
This is the latest success for RWO, which currently employs 30 people and continues to recruit additional staff to strengthen its team to meet the high demand for construction engineering services from regional homebuilders.
Andrew Fairburn, director of RWO’s Leeds office, said: ‘This is a major blow for us, strengthening our budding partnership with Yorkshire Housing.
“While we work across all sectors, we have built a solid reputation in the affordable housing sector, delivering projects alongside housing associations, construction companies and public sector organisations.
“We now very much look forward to working with Yorkshire Housing and supporting their ambitious growth and future residential development plans.”
