Booming country newcomer Bailey Zimmerman has just dropped an emotional and overly relatable music video for his latest song, “Rock and a Hard Place.”
The thrilling visual vividly depicts what happens when a couple is about to break up. Zimmerman, who acts as the fictional protagonist, is still in love with his wife, but unfortunately his heart has moved on to another guy. He is both confused and torn because he thought they were committed to a future for life together.
“We’ve been talking forever since we’ve been together / Something about a ring makes you think we’re better off with / All of this but we’re caught between a rock and a hard place,” Zimmerman sings in a verse with his raspy, distinct voice.
He then wonders about the final result: “What good is all this? / Is this where it fixes or breaks? »
As he ponders his emotional conundrum and his crumbling relationship, flashbacks to their past cross his mind, which leaves him – as the saying and song title notes – caught between ” the hammer and the anvil”.
Will Zimmerman stick to his “forever” or “to give up”? Watch the drama video above to find out.
“Rock and a Hard Place” is the title track from Zimmerman’s Warner Music Nashville debut EP. The five-song project, which was dropped earlier in June, includes the hit song “Fall in Love,” which serves as the country radio’s debut single.
Meanwhile, “Rock and a Hard Place” ranks as “the highest non-Morgan Wallen country song debut of the year, as noted in Billboard Country Update,” according to a press release. Billboard‘s Country Streaming Songs and Country Digital Song Sales charts, #2 on their Hot Country Songs chart and #24 on their All Genres Hot 100 chart.
