Finally, Coheed and Cambria finally announced the details of their highly anticipated new album, Vaxis II: A Window to the Awakened Mind, an ambitious thirteen-track epic produced by the very own Claudio Sanchez and Zakk Cervini which will be released worldwide on May 27and.

“Vaxis II: A Window to the Awakened Mind welcomes us to “The Amory Wars” like the 2n/a installment of the five-part ‘Vaxis’ arc about a couple fleeing tyrannical forces and their mysterious new addition,” the press release explains.

Today the group has started pre-orders for the album on the DSPs and for the deeply immersive side of the collection Vaxis II: A Window of the Waking Mind Deluxe Box Set Limited Edition.

The album’s limited-edition deluxe box set includes the exclusive 96-page hardcover illustrated novel A window to the awakened mind » which was developed by Sanchez and written by his wife Chondra Echert with amazingly realistic color illustrations of hunting stone.

The 9″ x 12″ cabinet also houses an eProprietary Quintillan Speaker Containment Unit Lamp (approximately 8 inches in diameter), a 3-panel fold-out poster of the enlarged album cover, and the A window to the awakened mind Black card which will give all cardholders early access to Coheed and Cambria tickets and highlights! All box sets will also come with a copy on CD and a download of Vaxis II: A Window to the Awakened Mind accompanied by an official certificate of authenticity.

Vaxis II: A Window to the Awakened Mind includes the recently released singles “Rise, Naianasha (Cut The Cord)” and “Shoulders”, the latter of which jumped into Active Rock Radio’s Top 10, marking the band’s highest position on the radio charts to date.

Coheed and Cambria will celebrate the upcoming LP with “The Great Destroyer Tour,” a US tour that will have special guest support Sheer Mag. The coast-to-coast trek is set to begin Feb. 16and with a sold-out show at the legendary Pappy & Harriet’s in Pioneertown, California, and will continue through mid-March, giving audiences the opportunity to see the band live in intimate clubs across the United States.
