“A place that I really appreciate”

A bantamweight title contender, “Wonder Boy” Fabricio Andrade, has traveled the world from Brazil to China and now Thailand. He honed his skills to become the fighter he is today throughout his journey. But it was at Tiger Muay Thai in Phuket that he found refuge.

The 25-year-old is one of many world champions and top martial arts talents training in Tiger Muay Thai. He trains among the best, including interim ONE World Heavyweight Champion Anatoly Malykhin, former ONE World Middleweight Champion Vitaly Bigdash and highly ranked lightweight contender Timofey Nastyukhin, among others.

Under the guidance of Phuket’s elite coaching staff, Andrade has transformed into an absolute killer. In a recent interview with Tudor Leonte of sherdog.com, “Wonder Boy” talked about his time in Thailand’s most famous coastal town. He said:

“I have been here for five years or more. Thailand was once my home. It’s like a place that I really enjoy. The atmosphere and training at Tiger [Muay Thai] was really good. They have a lot of good coaches, a lot of [training] partners, and I’ve made a lot of friends since I’ve been here.

Andrade will have the support of everyone at Tiger Muay Thai when he steps into the circle for his next fight. The No. 2-ranked bantamweight contender will meet reigning ONE Bantamweight World Champion John ‘Hands of Stone’ Lineker in the main event of ONE on Prime Video 3, which will be streamed live via Prime Video from the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, October 21.

If Fabricio Andrade wins this fight, he will become the youngest ONE bantamweight world champion in history.

Fabricio Andrade confident he will end John Lineker’s short reign in the division

Since entering ONE Championship in mid-2020, “Wonder Boy” Fabricio Andrade already knew he was going to become world champion. In fact, he was sure of it that he started calling then-champion Bibiano Fernandes, as well as the aforementioned John Lineker as soon as he joined the promotion.

The 25-year-old’s repeated calls were proof of his confidence. On the other hand, Andrade thinks Lineker stayed quiet because he was avoiding a fight with “Wonder Boy”.

During the ONE virtual press conference on Prime Video 3, Fabricio Andrade reiterated his claim that he will indeed defeat Lineker when the circle door closes and capture the coveted ONE gold. He said:

“I’m the guy who called it. He dodged me. 100%, I’m going to put on a show, there’s going to be another knockout and we’ll have a new champion.
